You´re Home. Ny single udgivelse 10 marts 2023
I anledning af deres nye single 'You're Home' har den danske duo HOEG & NILSSON været et smut i New Orleans.
Henning Hoeg og Robert Nilsson har ikke i fysisk forstand været i Louisiana. Sangen er således som sædvanligt indspillet i Helsingør og den amerikanske stat Michigan. Men de to musikalske venner har ladet sig inspirere af New Orleans magiske mikstur af liv, død og musikalsk magi ... den magi, der kun findes i New Orleans.
'Intet andet sted i verden er musikken i den grad en naturlig del af livet, som den er i New Orleans. Der er musik i maden, der er musik i arkitekturen, der er musik i den luft du indånder i New Orleans," siger Henning Hoeg, der har både som journalist, turist og musiker har besøgt 'The Big Easy' et utal af gange.
'You're Home' er lige dele pop, jazz og blues. Og teksten, der kom til Henning Hoeg i en drøm, handler om den sidste rejse, der måske også er den første i et nyt liv.
'Sangen er på en gang melankolsk, sentimentalt og opløftende. Og samtidig er det en af vores mest iørefaldende kompositioner nogensinde,' siger Robert, der som sædvanligt har stået for produktion hjemme i musikstudiet, der har udsigt til Kronborg og Øresund.
'Hvis Leonard Cohen kom fra New Orleans, ville han lyder sådan her," siger Hennings bror Erik Hoeg, der som gæst spiller mandolin, synger kor og trakterer de store koncert-pauker på den nye sang.

For their new single 'You're Home', the Danish duo HOEG & NILSSON has payed New Orleans a visit.
Henning Hoeg and Robert Nilsson have not physically been to Louisiana. As usual, the song was recorded in Elsinore, Denmark and Rochester in the US state of Michigan. But the two musical friends have been inspired by New Orleans' magical potion of life, death and musical magic ... the magic that can only be found in New Orleans.
'Nowhere else in the world is music as much a natural part of life as it is in New Orleans. There's music in the food, there's music in the architecture, there's music in the air, you breathe in New Orleans," says Henning Hoeg, who as a journalist, tourist and musician has visited 'The Big Easy' countless times.
'You're Home' is equal parts pop, jazz and blues. And the lyrics, which came to Henning Hoeg in a dream, is about the last journey, which is perhaps also the first in a new life. 'The song is at once melancholic, sentimental and uplifting.
And at the same time it is one of our most catchy compositions ever,' says Robert, who as usual was responsible for the instrumental magic at home in the music studio, which has a view to Kronborg Castle and Oeresund (the ocean between Denmark and Sweden).
"If Leonard Cohen came from New Orleans, he would sound like this," says Henning's brother Erik Hoeg, who as a guest plays mandolin, sings in the choir and treats the big concert timpani on the new song.
